2014 Sana Sana Event Well Received by South San Francisco Community

On September 20th, the Latino Collaborative together with the Healthy Weight Collaborative of San Mateo County held their 2nd Annual Latino Health Forum in South San Francisco. The forum titled “Sana Sana Colita de Rana, Care for Yourself Today for a Better Tomorrow” focused on educating the Latino community on the importance of health and wellness in their daily lives.  Many attendees were excited to hear Kira Vilanova from the television show Al Despetar with Univision who spoke about the importance of maintaining good physical and emotional health for everyone.  Featured workshops included healthy eating and nutrition, mindfulness and drumming, parenting workshops and a 15-minute Zumba lesson! Two hundred attendees went home with a free Sana Sana bag full of healthy goodies and information on local community resources.
