August 28: 4th Annual Recovery month Candlelight Vigil

red lighted candle

September is National Recovery Month and San Mateo County and Voices of Recovery will be celebrating with a number of events throughout the month, starting with a candlelight vigil on August 28.

Candles light our way and illuminate the space above us. It is our way to dispel darkness and proclaim life, and to proclaim hope. Families all over the world will dispel the darkness of addiction and proclaim our hope in a candle lighting ceremony during an event called Lights of Change.

Join us as on August 28, at 6 p.m. as we light candles to:

• Honor our loved ones in the bondage of active addiction
• Give our gratitude for those who have found their way out of the darkness of addiction
• Remember and honor the lives lost to addiction
• Raise Awareness and Promote Recovery

The event will feature speakers who are in recovery.

To join us on Zoom, please register in advance for this meeting here. For details please see the flier here. See a complete list of Recovery Month events throughout September at www.vorsmc.org/recovery-happens.
