When calling 911 for mental health emergencies, refer to the guidelines for calling police to find out how to prepare and what to expect at org/mh911. One main tip is to request for a Crisis Intervention Trained Officer (CIT)

6. How can I get involved with suicide prevention efforts in San Mateo County?
You can join our Suicide Prevention Committee which provides oversight and direction to suicide prevention efforts in San Mateo County. The coalition is open to the public and we welcome a diversity of stakeholders. The committee currently meets virtually the 1st Tuesday of the month 1:30.
