Reminder: Directing Change Deadline March 1st!

Directing Change is asking students to create a 1-minute film about suicide prevention and mental health. With the help of an advisor who has been identified by the school, students may produce films in a classroom setting, as an after-school activity, or as an out-of-school activity.

In teams of 1-10 participants, teams may choose one of the four categories to develop content in their films:

  • Suicide Prevention
  • Mental Health Matters
  • Through the Lens of Culture– Suicide Prevention
  • Through the Lens of Culture– Mental Health Matters

Directing change will provide participating teams and their schools with educational resources and a free suicide prevention or mental health program to better inform their work. Teams whose films have been selected as winners in their film category will be contacted to attend the Directing Change Award Ceremony. Not only do the teams of the winning films receive a cash prize, but so do the schools associated with the winners! For more information, contact Chenece Blackshear at cblackshear@smcgov.org  or call 650-573-5047.
