Call for Events for 2016 May Mental Health Awareness Month: Be the One!

San Mateo County Behavioral Health and Recovery Services Office of Diversity and Equity is excited about our upcoming 2016 May Mental Health Awareness Month: Be the One! We are issuing a “Call for Events” to compile a list of community events happening in San Mateo County during May Mental Health Awareness Month so we can share your event with our networks and help provide support.

This year’s theme is “Be the One.” Be the One can mean many things to different people; it can help reduce stigma and encourage people with mental health conditions to feel comfortable in seeking help. The main tagline is: 1 in 4 people has a mental health condition yet less than half are getting the help they need—many because they are afraid others will judge them. You can Be the One to help. We can provide you with messaging to incorporate this theme into your outreach materials.

Please complete this Call for Events” (about 5-minute) survey by Friday,  April 1st.  You can fill out the survey

If you have any questions, please contact Sylvia Leung at sleung@smcgov.org or 650-578-7165.

Thank you for all you do to help raise awareness and reduce stigma around mental health and substance use conditions!
