Launching the BHRS Blog

We are really excited about launching the BHRS blog. For the past year we have been working on creating this blog to make it as informative, interactive, and interesting as possible. We see this blog as a means to reach out to those that are most interested in the issues regarding mental health and substance use those being our clients, family members, staff, providers, affiliated health providers, elected officials etc. and to engage the broader community in developing an understanding of these issues.

This blog will be a place for a healthy exchange of ideas on the key policy areas that most impact our work today and into the future. Some of the topics I plan on raising and discussing over the next weeks and months include: housing, stigma and discrimination, health equity, crisis response services, access to care, Drug Medi-Cal, expanding relationship with the Health Plan of San Mateo, the use of technology in our delivery of services, our implementation of the Community Service Areas, serving the criminal justice population, etc. What I hope is that our audience will share their opinions and suggestions so that we can enrich our individual and collective thinking on these important issues.

In addition to reacting to my posts I hope that our audience raises other issues for us to discuss and debate.

For many years we have relied on our newsletter Wellness Matters to disseminate important information on current and future events, programmatic developments, and key policy areas. While we will continue to publish Wellness Matters bi-monthly, we believe our new blog will enhance our long standing commitment to stakeholder participation in the work we do.

I look forward to hearing from you and encourage you to share this blog with your family and friends.

We are now officially LAUNCHED!
